CZ LOKO received another order for the supply of locomotives
CZ LOKO has another order in Turkey. The Czech manufacturer will supply the metallurgical plant with up to six locomotives to replace Chinese and Soviet locomotives.
CZ LOKO has won a new contract for the EffiShunter 600 shunting locomotives. The Turkish metallurgical plant Erdemir in Eregli has ordered four shunting vehicles from the Czech company with a more powerful 709 kW CAT C27 internal combustion engine.
The contract for about 170 million kroons foresees the delivery of the entire batch in the first quarter of 2023. At the same time, the steel plant has options for supplying two more locomotives on the same terms.
Thus, there can be up to six locomotives in total. They will replace obsolete Soviet and Chinese machines.
The company announced the conclusion of the contract in a press release.
“This is a great export success that we have reached despite the dire conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The main thing is the high quality and efficiency of these locomotives. Excellent value for money are parameters that open the way for our locomotives to the world, ”says Jan Kutalek, Sales Director of CZ LOKO.
Over the past six years, it has exported ten locomotives to the country.
Six EffiShunters 600 operate in the Isdemir steel mills, two 744 series locomotives are already owned by Erdemir.
Two other 741.7 locomotives are used by the Turkish state carrier TCDD as a “reserve” under the Bosphorus in the Marmaray undersea railway tunnel in case of an emergency.
