The signing of a contract between Alstom and Ukrzaliznytsya is approaching. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote about this on his Facebook page, summing up the current ParisInfraWeek conference.

Alstom and Ukrzaliznytsia finalize the contract

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply. ParisInfraWeek is an annual infrastructure investment conference. The event is hosted by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. This year the focus of the conference is Ukraine.

Ukraine must pay 132.4 million euros in advance for Alstom locomotives in 2022

“This was facilitated by two key factors – active cooperation between our countries over the past two years and the first noticeable results of the Big Construction. In 2021, Ukraine and France signed a framework agreement worth 1.3 billion euros. The new directions that we presented the other day will potentially give another 1 billion in investments,” wrote the Minister of Infrastructure.

Oleksandr Kubrakov also announced that Alstom and Ukrzaliznytsya are finalizing the contract: “This brings us closer to the main goal – the renewal of UZ trains, fast and comfortable travel by rail. It is important for us to maintain the agreed volume of localization of production and affordable financing.

” As previously reported, an agreement with Alstom on the supply of locomotives to Ukrzaliznytsia may be concluded in the near future.
