The new tender, valued at €45 million excluding VAT, involves the supply of 8 five-car metro trains with through passages. Applications are accepted until June 26. This information was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing Rollingstock.

In 2020, the Chinese company CRRC won a similar tender in terms of volume, offering to fulfill the contract for €44 million excluding VAT.

Krukovsky Carriage Works (KVSZ), whose offer was €1 million higher, attempted to challenge these results.

The last time rolling stock for the Kharkiv Metro was procured was in 2015 when KVSZ supplied the only metro train of the 81-7036/7037 model it had produced.
