A new grain terminal will be built in the port of Kuryk
In February, JSC “NC” Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”, LLP “Port Kuryk” and LLP “Kaspi Grain Way” have signed an agreement on cooperation on the construction of a terminal in the Caspian Sea port of Kuryk. This is a new project being implemented by the Kazakhstan railway company. The launch of the terminal with a capacity of 1 million tons per year with a one-time storage of 25 thousand tons of grain crops is planned in 2022, informs railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press service of “KTZ”
The new terminal is designed to provide a projected increase in the volume of grain exports in the direction from Kazakhstan to Iran and the states of the Caucasus region, and further to third countries.
“The signed agreement contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the transport route, increasing freight traffic, building up export potential and improving the process of freight traffic through the port of Kuryk,” the message says.
