From January to September 2021, Ukrainian car builders produced 1,396 units of rolling stock.

The volume of freight cars and platforms built in 9 months of 2021 decreased by 42.4% against the corresponding period last year, reports Railway Supply magazine.

In September, the wagon-building enterprises produced 183 units of rolling stock. This is 77 wagons more than in August.

Some of them were manufactured by the Kryukov Railcar Building Plant. During January-September, the company reduced the production of freight cars to 574 units, or by 55.5% compared to the same period in 2020.

As previously reported, the owner of KVSZ proposed to allocate UAH 31.5 billion for the purchase of freight cars instead of passenger trains.
