This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The run marked the opening of the Xi’an–Yan’an high-speed railway. The project is intended to reduce the commuting time between the two cities to 68 minutes and strengthen high-speed rail (HSR) in northern Shaanxi, as reported by Railway-News.com.

CR400BF-Z Fuxing intelligent EMU: speed and onboard systems

Developed by CRRC in China, the CR400BF-Z Fuxing intelligent EMUs are designed to run at up to 350 km/h. They feature intelligent service and monitoring systems aimed at improving the passenger experience and operational oversight.

CRRC also says the units can transmit EMU data via 5G, supporting travel intelligence, safety and passenger confidence as part of the monitoring approach.

China HSR network growth as new lines open

CRRC links the Xi’an–Yan’an High-Speed Railway opening to two other launches: the Hangzhou–Quzhou High-Speed Railway and the Wuhan–Yichang section of the Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu High-Speed Railway.

With these openings, China’s HSR network is described as having more than 50,000 kilometres of operational mileage, the most available in the world today, a milestone also covered by Railway Supply. CRRC adds that, so far, more than 4,100 high-speed EMUs have been deployed.
