Clocking 225 km/h: Turkiye Just Aced Crucial Dynamic Braking Tests for Its New HSR Fleet
30.04.2026
The Turkiye high-speed train reached 225 km/h during dynamic testing. It was built by the domestic industry. Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the result. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The result came on the second day of dynamic braking tests. The testing stage is described as critical in the train’s validation process.
TÜRASAŞ produced the train, according to Anadolu Agency. Also, Turkish authorities describe the resources as local and national. After construction, it entered the testing programme on the country’s railway network.
Turkiye high-speed train testing reaches 225 km/h
Abdulkadir Uraloğlu called the early 225 km/h result significant for Turkiye’s railway sector.
He stated that the train quickly passed one of the most important test-programme stages. In his view, the result reflects Turkiye’s engineering and industrial capabilities in high-speed rolling stock.
Further trials planned after Mithatpaşa–Bilecik testing
Meanwhile, the current dynamic test phase is on the Mithatpaşa–Bilecik line. The Turkish minister said this stage comes before further testing phases. Those phases are planned for the rest of Turkiye’s high-speed lines.
As RailwayPro reported, authorities expect the train to enter service once all required tests finish. In addition, it is planned for Turkiye’s national high-speed network. Its commercial operating speed is 225 km/h.
At the same time, Ankara presents the project as a local railway technology milestone. Officials emphasize that it is the first high-speed train built by Turkiye’s domestic industry.
Officials link the early test performance to Turkiye’s progress in modern high-speed train development.
