What the Utah Central Railway labor agreement includes?

A BLET press release said Utah Central had been non-union before that vote. Union officials said the new contract adds provisions commonly found in other BLET agreements. Those include a seniority roster, general wage increases, grievance procedures, and paid holidays and vacations.

They also highlighted the discipline process. They described it as one of the most important parts of the pact.

“This agreement establishes protections against unwarranted discipline and provides members with contractual rights to challenge alleged rule violations and proposed discipline,” said BLET Vice President James Logan Jr. He heads the union’s short line department and is the director of organizing.
