Belarusian Railways transported a million TEU since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2021 Belarusian Railways has transported more than 1,000,000 TEU containers in all types of transportation.
Container traffic reached the seven-digit mark in October, while in 2020 this figure was achieved based on the results of transportation for 12 months, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the Belarusian Railways.
For 9 months of 2021, the volume of transit container traffic increased by 1.4 times, compared to the same period in 2020.
For 9 months of 2021, export traffic increased by 15%. Domestic transportation also increased by 17%.
As a reminder, the volume of cargo transported in January – September 2021 by the Latvian railway company Latvijas dzelzcels decreased by 11.8%, to 15.39 million tons.
