Amtrak says the refreshed menu is designed to give passengers more variety. The route carries more than 12 million customers each year between Boston and Virginia.

New food choices for Northeast Regional riders

According to Amtrak, the update covers several parts of the cafe service. It includes breakfast, coffee customization, and later-day meal options.

The breakfast menu will add a warm sticky bun. Also, flavored coffee syrups will give morning travelers another way to customize their drinks.

For lunch and dinner, Amtrak is adding several sandwiches and wraps alongside its popular Turkey Havarti sandwich. The new choices include Chicken Salad on Pretzel Sliders, a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and a Curried Chickpea Wrap.

Snacks and beverages added onboard

The onboard dining selection will also include several new or notable snacks and beverages. These include Poppi Prebiotic Soda in Strawberry Lemon, Nerds Gummy Clusters, a Barebells Protein Bar, La Colombe Vanilla Draft Latte, and Butter Cake. In addition, Butter Cake has already been a longtime favorite on Amtrak’s Long Distance services.
