VSK applied to the SBU regarding the purchase of consulting services from DB Engineering

Ukrzaliznytsia wants to order consulting services worth over UAH 304 million (more than 10 million euros).

Yulia Grishina, head of the Temporary Commission of Inquiry on UZ, wrote about this on her Facebook page. This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Railinsider.

In addition to the significant amount that UZ plans to spend on what “highly paid company managers should do on their own,” the head of VSK is concerned about security issues.

“The threat to Ukraine from Russia, Germany’s attempt to prevent the supply of weapons to Ukraine and the protection of Nord Stream 2 makes us think about the fact that not everyone from the Western flank is friendly and partner-oriented towards our state,” Yulia Grishina wrote. .

She noted that the tender for the purchase of consulting services for the modernization of the vertical of passenger transportation of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, in many ways, is registered for one specific contractor – the German consulting company Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting, which has already provided such services in Russia.

“Among its experts, who are likely to work on the project in UZ, there are Russians and Belarusians,” said the MP.

“In 2021, UZ managers have already pulled off a similar “agreement” and without a tender, through a controlled plant, they purchased consulting services in the amount of 831 thousand euros from Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting. And they did it with violations,” recalled the head of the VSK.

Yulia Grishina also noted that UZ is a strategic enterprise, in particular, for the defense capability of the state.

UZ expects to receive first recommendations from Deutsche Bahn by 2022

“Therefore, as the chairman of the VSK on issues of Ukrzaliznytsia, and first of all, a citizen of Ukraine, I have a few simple questions for the management of UZ: what documents and information on the strategic enterprise UZ JSC have already been accessed and can be obtained by the experts of the German company Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting? How is the information received processed and stored? Have the experts of the German company Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting, who visit the strategic facilities of JSC UZ every day, passed due diligence? Who guarantees that there will be no leakage of information or any actions that will harm the security of the state?” – the head of the VSK emphasized.

In addition, she said that on January 24 she sent a request from VSK to UZ and SBU, in which they requested more detailed information regarding these agreements and purchases.

As previously reported, DB consultants conducted a number of energy audits at JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
