The Winter Olympic Games for China is an opportunity to showcase their latest technology.

Anti-Icing technology on HSR

Among them will be the solution offered by the Polish capital company Nordic Winter Solutions, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing Nordic Winter Solutions.

The Olympic Games are not only spectacular sports competitions, but also an opportunity to present the visiting card of the host country. The Games will feature high-tech innovations of all sizes, from artificial intelligence to internet infrastructure and even a new way to cool ice. Also in the field of railway infrastructure, technologies for protecting trains from ice and snow on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou line will be presented.

In collaboration with the China Railway Company (CRC), Nordic Winter Solutions (NWS) has provided a patented, state-of-the-art version of the well-known Anti-Icing System, equipped with innovative technologies such as: fully automatic detection of train type, quantity and speed, remote access, diagnostics and control from main command center depot.

Solution from Nordic Winter Solutions, prepared for a railway line of almost 200 km with 10 stations. Its operating speed is 350 km/h. The system detects changing weather conditions and adjusts accordingly.

Gas heating of the railway switch – bright, but expensive!

This is done by providing weather information from CRC weather stations along NWS lines. All of the above innovations make it possible to improve the reaction to the icing process of high-speed trains and ensure the correct operation of the Olympic line.

It is interesting that Nordic Winter Solutions is a company owned by Corail TS, a company with Polish capital, which in 2019 acquired 100% of the shares of the Swedish company NORDIC.

All production and research were transferred to Poland. Through a successful collaboration with China Railway Company, Nordic Winter Solutions started a project to develop and launch station systems for long-distance trains.

Testing of anti-icing systems of the traction network has also begun, which will allow comprehensive protection of trains so that the movement is not endangered in winter conditions and to avoid delays, especially in the case of such significant events as the Winter Olympics.
