In the southwestern province of Yunnan, the Lijiang-Shangri-La electrified railway, spanning 139 km with 13 stations, has connected cities, reducing travel time to 1 hour and 18 minutes, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Construction, initiated in 2014, involved the excavation of 20 tunnels and the building of 34 bridges in challenging geological conditions.
