«Kazakhstan Railways» has commenced the construction of a railway line bypassing the former capital of Kazakhstan, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

A total of 130 kilometers of railway tracks will be laid, along with the construction of three separate points, 13 bridges, one road overpass, and five railway viaducts.

Alstom invests 50 million euros in the establishment of a depot

The volume of private investments in the project amounts to 93.6 billion tenge ($201.3 million).

The implementation of the project will redirect the flow of goods between Kazakhstan and China to the new railway “Zhetigen – Qazybek bek,” bypassing the Almaty station.

The new branch will reduce the load on the Almaty hub by 40% and shorten the delivery time of goods to 24 hours.
