Turkey sent the first container train to Russia

The first container train from Turkey to Russia departed on January 29. The solemn ceremony on this occasion was held at the Ankara train station, informs railway magazine Railway Supply citing information from the Turkish railway company.

The train will proceed along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line and further to the Vorsino station near Moscow, covering 4650 km in 8 days. It is reported that Turkish household appliances are exported on the train: dishwashers and stoves. In total, the composition includes 15 containers.

“Our goal is to increase the export of our country. The Turkey-Russia railway line is extremely important from the point of view of joint work and strengthening trade relations, ”the statement says.

In addition, another train was sent to China in parallel, consisting of 42 containers with ore.
