Expanding on the successful West Coast Kitchen, this initiative enhances the onboard menu for travelers on routes connecting the North West of England and Scotland. The goal is to deliver a luxurious First-Class experience, featuring gourmet meals and top-tier customer service.

The curated menu highlights fresh, high-quality ingredients from local suppliers. Passengers can indulge in a TransPennine bacon cheeseburger, featuring Northumberland smoked cheese, or a Steak & Newcastle Brown Ale pie, packed with rich flavors.

For those who enjoy classic British fare, the menu includes a handmade hog roast sausage roll, crafted by The Original Baker in Malton. Cheese lovers can savor a regional cheeseboard with Harrogate Blue and Northumberland Nettle, offering an exceptional tasting experience.
Vegetarian travelers can opt for the Harissa vegetable stew, a flavorful, plant-based dish that ensures inclusivity in the meal selection. Every guest can find a dish that meets their preferences, making First-Class travel more enjoyable than ever.
TransPennine Express Enhances First-Class Service
Breakfast options are equally enticing, with a Full English Breakfast featuring Cumberland sausage, Bury Black Pudding, frittata, and baked beans. Those with a sweet tooth can start the morning with fluffy pancakes topped with blueberry compote, adding a delightful touch to the journey.
Andrew McClements, Customer Experience and Transformation Director at TransPennine Express, shared his enthusiasm about the introduction of TransPennine Kitchen. He emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering a superior travel experience.

To support this initiative, 20 additional customer hosts have joined the team, bringing the total number of onboard hosts to 60 professionals. Each host has undergone specialized customer service training led by renowned expert Geoff Ramm, ensuring passengers receive top-tier service.
With a doubling of onboard hosts, First-Class guests now enjoy personalized attention throughout their trip. Standard-Class travelers also benefit, as hosts provide three trolley service rounds per journey, offering a wide selection of refreshments.
Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the ongoing success of TPE’s service enhancements. Since the introduction of the West Coast Kitchen, 99% of passengers have expressed satisfaction with the onboard experience.
