The second generation of the innovative SRT wheel “tram” from CRRC

China’s largest railway equipment manufacturer, was introduced at an international exhibition in Beijing, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
This transport combines the advantages of a bus and a tram, operating in a dedicated road zone using autonomous driving coordinated with the BeiDou system.
The traction system is based on lithium-ion batteries, providing a range of 25 km with a fast charging time of 10 minutes.
The option to use hydrogen fuel cells allows extending the range to 200 km.
Designed to carry 176 passengers, the vehicle reaches a speed of 70 km/h and can maneuver through curves with a radius of 15 meters.
While the second generation debuts, the first generation of the three-section “ART tram” with a range of 245 km is undergoing successful trials in Malaysia and Australia, having solid contracts for 38 units.
These innovations in public transportation underscore CRRC’s commitment to creating efficient and environmentally friendly solutions in the global railway industry.
