STORK Cargo Orders 70 Eanos Wagons for 2026 Delivery

STORK Cargo has ordered 70 Eanos freight wagons with Mindener Kreisbahnen, adding telematics-equipped international rail-freight capacity as deliveries are scheduled to begin in autumn 2026.

70 Eanos wagons add 85 m³ of capacity

Under the contract announced on July 22⁠, STORK Cargo and Mindener Kreisbahnen are jointly procuring 70 factory-new Eanos 85 m³ wagons from Greenbrier Leasing Europe. Each four-axle vehicle will offer a loading volume of approximately 85 m³ and a maximum payload of 63.5 tonnes.

The wagons will be approved for international rail freight and equipped with telematics for fleet monitoring. Greenbrier⁠ will manufacture them at its Drobeta-Turnu Severin plant in Romania.

The official announcement also places the wagons under a full-lease maintenance concept intended to ensure high vehicle availability. The first deliveries are expected in autumn 2026; no contract value was disclosed.

Mindener Kreisbahnen retains its operating role

The order adds capacity as STORK Cargo reports rising rail transport volumes. The Magdeburg-based logistics company⁠ focuses on waste, recycling and secondary raw-material flows, using rail as its main mode and combining it with road and inland waterway transport where required.

Mindener Kreisbahnen is more than a procurement partner in the agreement. The operator already handles a substantial share of STORK Cargo’s rail services and is expected to continue that role under the extended cooperation.

The project therefore couples 70 leased wagons with an established operating arrangement. The equipment specification addresses the fleet side of the expansion, while Mindener Kreisbahnen remains responsible for a significant portion of the rail operations.
