Stadler delivers Kiss trains to Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was present at the handover of the first of three double-decker electric trains Stadler Kiss (200 km/h) to the national passenger operator Srbija Voz.
The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia announced tenders for the supply of electric trains on February 9 this year, indicating that the contract for 62.2 million euros was signed with the sole bidder Stadler on April 8, reports Railway Supply, citing the Railway Gazette.
The first train was handed over on October 29, and the other two are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

According to Infrastruktura Železnice Srbije manager, operation at a speed of 200 km/h will be possible on the 41.6 km section of the Batajnica – Karlovachki Vinogradi route, and the estimated travel time for intercity transport between Belgrade and Novi Sad will be 36 minutes.
