Sounder train cancellations affect both lines

Sound Transit attributed the disruption to connectivity issues affecting a federally required railroad safety system. Several S Line and N Line trains were canceled, while other trains could operate at reduced speeds.

The morning service report warned passengers to expect heavier crowds and to consider light rail or bus services instead. For a full list of cancellations, viewers were told to text “Sounder” to 206-448-4545.

What riders should know

Sounder’s N Line connects Everett and Seattle, while the S Line connects Seattle with Tacoma and Lakewood. The disruption therefore affected trains on both Sounder commuter rail corridors.
