Meanwhile, on January 24, the interdistrict tax inspectorate of the FTS in Moscow decided to exclude the Russian legal entity “Siemens Mobility” from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. However, last week, on February 9, this procedure was terminated due to applications received from interested parties.
During the same period, the main Russian legal entity was renamed from “Siemens” to “Systems.”
According to Interfax, in the report for the year 2023, the company announced its intention to initiate voluntary liquidation in February due to the inability to continue its operations in Russia.
The Ural Locomotives plant was launched in 2010 as a joint venture between Siemens Mobility and the Sinara Group to produce electric locomotives and electric trains. In May 2022, Siemens’ headquarters announced its departure from the Russian market.
In June of the same year, Sinara-Transport Machines gained full control over the management of the plant.
It is worth noting that over time, Russian courts have granted a number of claims from the main customer of rolling stock Siemens Mobility in Russia – Russian Railways (RZD).
Thus, penalties totaling almost 60 million rubles per day were imposed for the unilateral non-performance of contracts for the supply and maintenance of rolling stock and SCB systems for the German company.
At the moment, all of Siemens’ appeals have been unsuccessful…
