Siemens Mobility Braunschweig celebrates 150 years

Siemens Mobility in Braunschweig, one of Germany’s largest and oldest railway signaling and automation plants, marked its 150th anniversary, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The business, founded by Max Jüdel and engineer-mechanic Heinrich Büssing in 1873, eventually came under Siemens Mobility’s control with a 51% stake in 1928.

During the anniversary ceremony, Siemens Mobility and Continental signed a letter of intent, committing to employing over 100 Continental workers in Gifhorn at the Braunschweig plant over the next five years.
The company currently employs over 4,000 professionals from more than 46 countries, including over 1,100 in production and assembly.
In its first 20 years, the company registered over 90 patents and built over 1,000 signaling systems, overseeing more than 12,000 switches and signals on railways.
