RS Lease Transmontana taken over for CRW in Hungary
07.06.2026
RS Lease Transmontana 480 092 has been taken over by Budamar Logistics for CRW operations in Hungary.

The locomotive comes from a two-unit Transmontana order placed by Slovak leasing company RS Lease with Romanian manufacturer Softronic Craiova. For RS Lease, the order was its first move beyond its Siemens Vectron MS portfolio and brought Transmontana locomotives into the fleet of a Slovak rolling stock owner.
RS Lease Transmontana order expands the fleet
The Transmontana is a six-axle Co′Co′ electric locomotive produced at Softronic’s Craiova plant. It weighs 120 tonnes, reaches a maximum speed of 160 km/h and has a continuous power output of 6,600 kW.
The locomotives are approved for operation in Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. In Slovakia, their use is limited by the 25 kV catenary system to the line from Štúrovo, on the Hungarian border, through the capital, Bratislava, to Kúty, near the Czech border, and to the line towards Žilina.
CRW to use the locomotive on Hungarian corridors
The first locomotive will be used by CRW on Hungarian corridors. CRW, formally Central Railways, operates freight services in Slovakia and expanded into Hungary after obtaining its Hungarian safety certificate.
