Among the participants are the Danish subsidiary of the French company Alstom Transport Danmark, the Spanish engineering company CAF, and the consortium of Siemens Mobility and Stadler.
This order includes the delivery of no less than 226 trains with a total value of €3.5 billion. The contract also entails technical maintenance for 30 years and the potential supply of up to 100 additional trains.
At present, DSB is in consultation with potential suppliers to develop tender specifications involving trade partners to ensure the selection of the “best and most reliable solutions” for the future S-Bane fleet.
The Danish national operator hopes to conclude the contract in the first half of 2025, with the new trains expected to be in operation around 2030.
