Alstom will supply 13 four-car automated trains of the Innovia Monorail 300 for the Dominican city of Santiago de los Caballeros, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The manufacturer, as part of the SIF consortium, was chosen to implement the first monorail system project in the Caribbean Basin.

Purchase of battery-electric trains

Alstom’s share in the contract is estimated at approximately €370 million.

The company will also provide CBTC systems, contact rails, turnouts, and construct a depot.
