The city transit agency, Sacramento, has exercised an option for the delivery of 8 three-section S700 trams from Siemens Mobility, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

Delivery of Trams

With this order, combined with two previous ones placed in 2020, SacRT is set to receive a total of 36 trams, which will replace the Siemens U2A trams from the 1980s and 1990s in its fleet.

Additionally, the transit agency still has the option for 60 more trams.

The first S700 tram, manufactured at the Siemens Mobility factory in Sacramento, arrived in the city in March.
