It is envisaged to purchase 100 to 200 dual-system trains with a speed of 250 km/h, intended for leasing to transport operators.

Investments in the procurement from 2024 to 2030 are estimated at 8.7 billion zlotys (€1.9 billion), with a prospective increase to 20 billion zlotys (€4.5 billion) by 2035.

Approximately 20% is expected to be covered from the state budget, while the remaining portion will be sourced from funds, banks, and other financial channels.

Priority will be given to acquiring trains for the Warsaw–Lodz line, with construction slated to commence in 2024.

Previously, the country initiated pre-competition consultations with local company Pesa, engaged in the development of such rolling stock, as well as global players like Alstom, CRRC, Siemens, Stadler, Talgo, and others.
