PESA unveils its 2025+ development strategy
23.07.2021
PESA presented its strategy. By 2025, the new trains will run at speeds of 160, 200 and 250 km / h.

The company specializes in product development, new technologies, and overseas expansion. PESA wants its products to meet consumer demand for low-emission transport, reports Railway Supply citing Nakolei Pl.
Recently, PESA has received new orders and entered new overseas markets. After the conclusion of contracts with Czech Railways, the company won tenders for the supply of trams to Sofia and Slovak Kosice, and on Monday signed a contract with the Romanian Craiova. At the same time, as planned, it produces ordered trains for Koleje Dolnośląskie, Malopolskie, Czech RegioJet, as well as trams for Silesia, Torun and Jasi.

PESA has embarked on a new strategy – introducing innovative technologies and launching trams, locomotives and vehicles under the new Regio160 platform, which should respond to the needs of zero-emission transport as a result of the implementation of the Green Deal. The experience gained in the past, supported by cooperation with strategic technology partners, is a guarantee of the company’s stable development, foreign expansion and strengthening of its leading position among domestic manufacturers of rail transport.

Among other things, PESA’s 2025+ strategy includes the development of new technologies and new IT tools, optimization of costs for current products, and a reconstruction of the business model and organizational model.
PESA currently produces ELF2 electric trains for Koleje Małopolskie and Koleje Dolnośląskie, the new 654 for the Czech carrier RegioJet, Linków for NEB and a new generation train with Stage V environmentally friendly engines for Czech Railways, Gama locomotives for RCP, Pol Miedź Trans, PCC Intermodal and trams to Silesia, Torun and Romanian Iasi.

“The fact that we deliver trains on time and our customers are happy with them is the result of changes in all areas. We have improved direct relations with carriers, we analyze market trends, we have adapted the design of trains to the needs of customers, we have improved relations with sub-suppliers and cooperators, we have begun a technological breakthrough in production, we are focusing on robotization and automation, we manage financial processes and calculations. All this creates a new image for PESA”, stressed Krzysztof Zdziarski, Chairman of the Management Board of PESA Bydgoszcz.
PESA places particular emphasis on low emission trains. The most important project implemented in production is the Regio160 platform. Its main advantage is one standard design, which, thanks to the modularity of the body, allows you to configure the platform with different drives and bodies, thereby adapting the equipment to the needs of the carrier.
The strategy is being implemented within the framework of 16 strategic projects and is planned in detail for the next five years.
