Network Rail Launches Trial of Central Display Screen at Euston Station

Network Rail has launched a trial at Euston Station, repurposing the large screen to display live travel updates. This initiative aims to improve the passenger experience and ensure smoother journeys. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

A Five-Point Plan to Transform Euston
Network Rail introduced the trial as part of its five-point improvement plan, responding to passenger concerns. The trial, beginning December 11, focuses on providing clearer and more centralized travel information.

The screen, previously an advertising board, now offers live updates for passengers. These changes followed feedback emphasizing the need for a single, prominent information source.
Safety and Infrastructure Plans at Euston Station
Safety concerns raised earlier this year highlighted risks of overcrowding at Euston Station. Campaign group Travelwatch and others urged for immediate improvements in passenger flow and safety measures.
In addition to the screen trial, Network Rail plans to rebuild the station and continue HS2 tunneling. Approved by Chancellor Rachel Reeves, this project is projected to cost £6 billion.
Key Figures Speak on the Initiative
Gary Walsh, Network Rail’s West Coast South route director, stated: “Passenger feedback drives our commitment to these improvements.” The organization aims to enhance the station experience for all travelers.
Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander also emphasized the urgency of these updates. She noted this trial reflects the government’s push for immediate, impactful changes in rail services.
