Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail PMC: NHSRCL selects SYSTRA & DB

Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail PMC services have been officially awarded to SYSTRA and DB Engineering & Consulting by the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), as reported by Railway-News. Also, the contract covers railway systems for the new corridor.

Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail PMC scope and project footprint
Under a joint venture arrangement, SYSTRA and DB Engineering & Consulting will carry out a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment focused on the deployment of railway systems along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail line. In addition, the route is set to span 508 kilometres and serve the main business and residential centres of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Systems work: signalling, telecommunications and SCADA
The PMC aims to cover the installation of signalling and telecommunications systems, alongside real-time ticketing and control equipment (SCADA). Meanwhile, system equipment is set to be supplied by the DRA Infracon-Siemens joint venture, as SYSTRA notes in its company update.

Forming India’s first high-speed rail line, the new line will see trains connect Mumbai to Ahmedabad at an average speed of 250km/h and a maximum speed of 320km/h. At the same time, it is expected to reduce journey times from 6 hours to 2 hours and 7 minutes, with NHSRCL listing related contract awards on its awarded tenders page.
