Monorail on Magnetic Cushion in Berlin
27.11.2023
Berlin is restoring a monorail on a magnetic cushion. In 1989-1991, the city had a short route of this transport, connecting Gleisdreieck with Potsdamer Platz, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The new initiative promises quietness, eco-friendliness, and cost-effectiveness.
Construction is scheduled for 2026 with a budget of 85 million euros, while a new metro line costs significantly more – 200-300 million euros per kilometer.
