Loconi Launches Weekly Intermodal Service to Handle Rising Poland-Czech Freight Volumes

The Gdańsk–Ostrava intermodal service will begin on 22 May. It will link the Baltic Hub terminal in Gdańsk with the Paskov terminal near Ostrava. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

As reported by Railmarket, the service will run one round trip per week. Departures from Gdańsk are scheduled every Friday.

Loconi said freight volumes are rising in the Poland–Czech Republic corridor. The company also stated that the route expands its intermodal network into the Czech market.
Also, the operator said the connection reinforces the Port of Gdańsk and Baltic Hub. It described them as logistics gateways for Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, the connection gives Czech customers direct rail access to Baltic Sea container flows.
The Paskov terminal is located near Ostrava. It is one of the Czech Republic’s main intermodal hubs. It serves freight flows towards Slovakia and southern Europe.
