Passenger transportation subsidiary of “NC “Kazakhstan temir zholy” has purchased 11 compartment cars for 400 seats from JSC “ZIKSTO” wagon building plant within the framework of railcar fleet renovation program. The new railcars will run on the Almaty – Mangistau and Almaty – Oskemen passenger trains. Railway Supply magazine wrote about it, citing zdmira.

The compartment cars are air-conditioned, equipped with modern filters for disinfecting and cleaning the air, and have environmentally-friendly lavatories. The railcars have a modern video surveillance system in the corridors and vestibules. The rolling stock is also equipped with a fire-extinguishing system with smoke detectors, its own fire hose and a water reserve in each car.

For passenger comfort, each compartment has electrical outlets and USB sockets for recharging mobile phones during the journey. There are refrigerators, microwave ovens, drinking water dispensers and a heater with hot water in the railcars. The service life of the cars is 40 years.

By the end of 2023, another 50 new railcars from this manufacturer will be delivered to Kazakhstan’s railways.
