The Polish subsidiary of the Lithuanian freight operator LTG Cargo will invest 47 million euros in the next 2-3 years to strengthen its position in the Polish rail transport market.

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to RailFreight.

The company said that the Polish market is highly competitive. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase and rent a new traction train in order to increase the efficiency of cargo transportation.

Lithuania’s LTG Cargo established a subsidiary in Ukraine

Among the main goals will be the purchase of diesel locomotives for non-electrified sections on the border with Lithuania. The company will also purchase dual-system locomotives.

Along with the locomotives, the company will purchase six new platform cars. LTG Cargo Polska acquired four new locomotives for rail freight traffic in Poland.

We are talking about Gama 111Ed locomotive with the Marathon operating system manufactured by PESA Bydgoszcz.
