Arsenale Express has awarded Knorr-Bremse a contract to supply brake systems, climate control, door and sanitation systems for two 11-car trains being upgraded for use on the luxury journeys of the new La Dolce Vita Orient Express. Railway Supply magazine reports this with reference to Railway Gazette.

La Dolce Vita is being developed by luxury travel company Arsenale in partnership with the Accor Group Orient Express brand and incumbent Italian group FS. Operations are expected to begin in mid-2024.

The climate control will use intelligent technology to optimally distribute cooling to passenger areas with manual or automatic control for each car and CO2 as an environmentally friendly refrigerant.

Sanitary systems are designed to be compact and low maintenance, with storage tanks and early fault detection.

The doors will be designed to “highlight the unique experience” of train travel.
