Innofreight engineers re-designed the frame structure in order to light it by 5% compared with the reference Y25. In this way, the freight cars get about 400 kg more payload capacity in total, improving the operations in terms of efficiency and economy.

The new design also improves braking efficiency and diminishes wheelset wear. The advancements prolong the service existence of parts and minimize maintenance expenses, so the corporation anticipates high demand for the new platform among European logistics providers.

Innofreight Strengthens International Partnership and Production

Serial manufacturing of the Innobogie will be carried out at a Trieste, Italian factory. Innofreight is creating a joint collaboration with container operator MSC, which will cater logistical infrastructure and distribution assistance.

The project deals with industrial automation — the design of the frame permits fully robotic welding with the same quality and increased production speed. The service life of the frame is more than 40 years, so investment in new rolling stock with payback in the shortest possible time.

The joint venture expects to achieve annual production of up to 3,000 bogies by 2027. This will reinforce the two firms’ market positions and speed up the capping in Europe of sustainable and efficient logistics in the rail sector.

Therefore, the Innobogie project shows how Innofreight achieves engineering experience, technological advancements, and global partnerships. The company is establishing the new standard in the area of rail freight, in which innovation and dependability signify successful long-term endeavors.
