The statement of the Uzbekistan State Railways notes that since February 1, rail transportation to this country has been temporarily suspended due to the untimely fulfillment of maintenance obligations by the Afghan side. It is reported by Railway Supply with reference to Railly News.

The message recalled that the parties had previously agreed to carry out work on the maintenance of the railway until February 1, 2023.

Recalling that the parties must also sign a new contract for the operation and maintenance of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, it was stated that road transport will be used to ensure the transportation of goods and products from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.
