The director of the Passenger Company branch, Alexander Pertsovsky, said that the company intends to move away from the operation of cars over 28 years old by 2026.

Now the UZ fleet has 2,400 passenger cars, 1,500 of which are older than the maximum service life, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to urm.media.

In addition to purchasing 1000 cars, UZ plans to overhaul 500 more passenger cars. According to the official, in 2022 Ukrzaliznytsia plans to purchase another 100 passenger cars, as in the current year.

As a reminder, in September, the State Auditors stated that UZ had no grounds for purchasing 100 passenger cars under a negotiated procedure, without a tender. At the end of the month, Ukrzaliznytsia appealed to the Kyiv District Administrative Court to overturn the corresponding conclusion of the State Audit Service.
