This year, they are set to transport passengers on a 2 km route in the city of Montigny-le-Bretonne, connecting a parking area with a fan zone during the Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

A total of 10 capsules are expected to be launched, with a line capacity of 240 passengers per hour.

The transport company Keolis will operate the line.

Urbanloop capsules utilize a rail system with a targeted speed of 50-60 km/h.

Traction is powered by a contact rail, and the capsule itself is equipped with electric motors and supercapacitors.

The project, initiated in 2017, introduced an updated capsule design in 2022, claiming a capacity for up to 4 people.

The technology is also planned for implementation in another French city, Nancy, where the project was developed.

The scheduled launch of a 3 km line into regular operation is set for 2026.
