Ukrzaliznytsia plans to modernize passenger railcars in 2021

UZ has planned to carry out overhaul repairs of 50 passenger railcars in 2021. The modernization of passenger railcars will be carried out at its own production facilities, informs railway magazine «Railway Supply» with reference to UZ website.

“The priority is to carry out overhaul repairs of passenger cars. Due to the overhaul, we get almost a new railcar for the 30% cost of a new one. Ukrzaliznytsia can restore a significant number of wagons at its own production facilities, “said Alexander Pertsovsky, Member of the Board, Director of the Passenger Company branch of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia

In total, next year Ukrzaliznytsia has planned record investments in the renewal of passenger rolling stock. It is planned to purchase 100 passenger cars for more than UAH 2.7 billion from the state budget and modernize 50 passenger cars for UAH 450 million.
