Ukrzaliznytsia launched a modernized electric train Svyatoshino – Bucha
On March 15 Ukrzaliznytsia launched a modernized suburban electric train Svyatoshino – Bucha – Svyatoshino. It will run from Kyiv to the suburbs and back during peak traffic periods in the morning and evening on weekdays, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of the South-Western Railway.

The launch of the train became possible due to the signing of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the management of the South-Western Railway, the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the mayors of Bucha and Irpen, as well as the Kotsyubinsky authorities.
Electric train ER-9m No. 534 was used to service the commuter trains of the “shuttle service” Svyatoshino — Bucha. JSC “KEVRZ” carried out a major overhaul with the extension of service life and modernization. In the railcars they installed new window units and new seats for passengers, as well as LED-based lamps and electronic displays. The driver’s cab was equipped with an air cooling system.
The train travels 18 km distance from Bucha to the metro station Svyatoshino in an average of 22 minutes, and from Irpen in 15 minutes. At the same time, the electric train can accommodate about 1000 passengers. The ticket price is UAH 13, which is cheaper than by minibuses.
The specified train will operate eleven trips daily, except Saturday and Sunday, during peak hours (six in the morning and five in the evening). Stops are provided at the stations Svyatoshino, Belichi, Irpen and Bucha.
According to the website trainpix, electric train №534 was manufactured by the Riga Carriage Works in 1978.
