According to data released by the community of Belarusian railway workers, the volume of cargo transit from the aggressor country to the European Union through Belarus decreased by 21.4% last year. It is reported by Railway Supply, citing Rail.insider.

Transit freight traffic from the Russian Federation to third countries through Belarus “sank” by 21.4% – from 8.8 million tons in 2021 to 6.9 million tons last year. Transportation of hard coal decreased the most — by almost 1.8 million tons (-49%). Another 600 thousand tons was “lost” by the transportation of ore (-40%). In addition, container transportation decreased from 48.2 to 35.7 thousand TEU in 2022. This is 16.5% less than last year.

As previously reported, the load on Russian Railways networks in 2022 decreased by 3.8%.
