Ukraine has allocated € 36.9 million for the purchase of new trams for Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih. In addition, funding has been approved for the purchase of 50 trams and the reconstruction of 1 km of tracks for Kryvyi Rih. Up to € 27 million will be allocated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) from the World Bank group.
Pesa wins another tender for the supply of trams for Romania
The EIB presented a project worth about € 100 million, which involves the purchase of new trams and equipment to modernize and increase the efficiency of the electric transport network for Kharkiv. At the end of May acting Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the first tram car within the framework of the Kharkiv Tram project will be presented in September. According to him, the project investor has already purchased a production line. “We will present a tram of Kharkiv assembly – in fact a complete analogue of Skoda trams.” The design of the tram, which is planned to be produced on the territory of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, was presented in October last year.

A tender for the supply of 12 trams with 100% low floors has been announced in Odessa. The purchase will be financed by a € 20 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The trams to be delivered must have 3 to 5 sections, a length of 26 to 32 meters, and a passenger capacity of at least 250 people. Applications are accepted until September 7. All trams must arrive in the city no later than 72 weeks after signing the contract. In December last year, the tender for the supply of 14 trams for Odessa was canceled due to violations in the tender documentation committed by all bidders.
