Track maintenance tools: Hydraulic rail puller
Hydraulic rail puller is designed for adjustment of gaps between rail joints during the construction and current maintenance of the track superstructure. It can be used with wooden and reinforced concrete sleepers, with all types of non-frozen ballast, at all stages of construction and operation of railway tracks on straight lines and curved sections.

The hydraulic rail puller is an improved design of the previously produced RN-01, RN-05 devices, more reliable in operation and easy to maintain. The device has reduced metal consumption and changed oil supply system.
| Technical specification | |
| Max. pulling force | 25 tf |
| Working pressure | 405 kg/cm2 |
| Force on the handle | less than 40 kgf |
| Max. spacing distance | 110 mm |
| Dimensions (H x W x L) | 750 x 316 x 663 mm |
| Total weight | 58 kg |
The hydraulic rail puller is an improved design of the previously produced RN-01, RN-05 devices, more reliable in operation and easy to maintain. The device has reduced metal consumption and changed oil supply system.
The hydraulic rail puller consists of two wedge-clamping devices, two wedge control mechanisms, a device for moving along rail tracks, and a hydraulic drive.
Each wedge-clamping device consists of a stationary and a movable body with angular grooves. The wedges are placed in pairs – the sharp ends are directed towards each other. When one of the bodies is sliding apart, the wedges are self-wedging, the closing link of which is the rail head.
The movement of the wedge clamps with clamped rail heads is carried out by two hydraulic cylinders mounted on a fixed body. A hydraulic drive consists of a plunger pump, a drive handle, a safety valve and a bypass valve.
