The war destroyed up to 30% of Ukraine’s infrastructure

During the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, 30% of the infrastructure worth $100 billion was destroyed or damaged.
This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
According to the official, the invasion the Russian Federation launched in February, affected “20-30% of the entire infrastructure with varying degrees of damage and various levels of destruction.”
Oleksandr Kubrakov noted that more than 300 bridges on the national roads of Ukraine were destroyed or damaged, more than 8 thousand km of roads need to be repaired or restored, and dozens of railway bridges were blown up. He currently estimated the damage at $100 billion.
The minister said that his department had begun partial reconstruction in the territories that had returned under the control of Ukrainian troops.
“If we talk about roads, bridges and residential buildings, then I believe that almost everything can be restored in two years … if everyone would work quickly,” he said.
As previously reported, the damage from the military aggression of the Russian Federation for the railway infrastructure and rolling stock exceeded $2.5 billion.
