The Polish railway has simplified the rules for free use of trains for Ukrainians
Ukrainians in Poland will be able to use trains under simplified rules.
This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press service of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Our compatriots who do not have a foreign passport or PESEL number, but with a train ticket from Ukrzaliznytsia, issued in Ukraine for travel to Poland, can provide it for issuing free travel documents through the territory of a neighboring state.
“Keep the train ticket that you bought in Ukraine (both electronic and purchased at the box office) for a trip to Poland. It gives the right to travel by rail across the territory of Poland not only on the day of crossing the border, but also in the future,” the press service noted.
Other rules for free use of the Polish railway for Ukrainians remain the same. Ukrainians who have crossed the border since February 24 and belong to the following groups can take advantage of the opportunity to travel free of charge on 2nd class trains TLK and IC:
– children under 18;
– men over 60 years old;
– men aged 18 to 60 with a disability.
From Poland, Ukrainians can also travel further abroad for free, following the same rules (free tickets are available at international ticket offices).
As previously reported, from April 1, the rules for free travel by rail for Ukrainians have changed in Poland.
