The new line will replace the existing bus route, reducing travel time between terminals to less than an hour.

The operation of the new line will be managed by Hovedstadens Letbane, a subsidiary of Metroselskabet, the operator of the Copenhagen metro.

In 2018, Hovedstadens Letbane signed a contract with Siemens Mobility to build a 28-kilometer tram line with 29 stops, connecting the suburbs of Copenhagen.
