Siemens Mobility has signed a contract to supply up to 200 Vectron locomotives, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The agreement, inked with the Austrian leasing company ELL, includes a firm order for 60 locomotives with various traction options for both passenger and freight transport.

The rolling stock will be manufactured at the Siemens Mobility factory in Munich-Allach, with deliveries set to commence in 2025.

This marks the fourth framework agreement between the companies.

In the medium term, it will enable ELL to expand its Vectron fleet to over 400 locomotives.

Since 2012, Siemens Mobility has delivered over 2,200 Vectron platform units to 95 customers.

In the current year, European leasing companies and carriers such as Beacon Rail, Medway Belgium, TX Logistik, Cargounit, BLS Cargo, Akiem, and RheinCargo have also placed orders.
