Testing of Stadler’s ST15 Trams Commences

In Darmstadt, the testing phase for the modern ST15 tram series, produced by Stadler, has begun. HEAG Mobilo, a German transportation company, has obtained the necessary approval from the technical supervision authority for this significant stage, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
Over the coming months, 14 Stadler-manufactured trams will undergo trials, both with passengers and without. Upon the successful completion of these tests, regular commercial operations will commence.

The TINA family of trams, to which these trams belong, impresses with their capacity, each capable of accommodating 272 passengers, including 101 seated positions. With a maximum speed of 80 km/h, these trams ensure fast and efficient mobility for the city’s residents.
The new tram chassis design enhances their repairability and optimizes interior space for passenger comfort. Additionally, the air conditioning system, using carbon dioxide as a refrigerant, ensures a comfortable journey in all weather conditions.
As per the contract signed in 2020, with subsequent expansion in 2021, the manufacturer is committed to delivering 25 modern trams to Darmstadt.
The first of these was showcased at the Innotrans 2022 exhibition in Berlin, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations in urban transportation.
