Tenders for the construction of the Rail Baltica mainline continue in Latvia
The second stage of the international tender for the provision of consulting services and technical supervision for the construction of the 200 km long Latvian section of Rail Baltica has been announced. Railway Supply magazine writes about this with reference to zdmira.
The companies admitted to participate in this stage of the competition (Italferr (Italy) and Systra (France) and the Spanish association of Tecnica y Proyectos and Prointec) must submit their technical and financial proposals by February 15, 2023.

At the same time, the largest tender for construction work on the same site is being held. Due to the parallel holding of two competitive procedures, it becomes possible to start construction of the mainline outside Riga in 2023. Design is underway for both international and regional stations that act as transport hubs, infrastructure service points and multimodal cargo terminals.
